ACO is the world leader in the design and manufacture of corrosion resistant products and grated line drainage systems.

In the early 1970s, ACO pioneered the development of a modular approach to channel drainage systems made from durable polymer concrete. The directions that come with the drain is rubbish. It says to stand drain up, put your hand behind to absorb the shock from the hammer. The trench drain instructions are B.S.
My ground is firm but slightly hard, should I be concerned?

When you butt these drains together there appears to be a small but noticeable gap between sections. This video did not say anything about sealing that gap. I'm I wrong in assuming that if you do not seal, the water or product will slowly find that gap and leak onto the concrete underneath...causing bacteria etc. to grow. Comments?
Hi John, Thanks for your question! There is a small gap between the channels which is for a sealant. This option is often not used in stormwater applications as the concrete encasement of the channel is sufficient to stop seepage (like any cast in situ drain) and the gap, after time, just fills in with silt. That said, if it’s something you’re concerned about, you can absolutely use a sealant to join the channels together. Hope that helps and if you need any more assistance, please get in touch! Team ACO
This drain is a nightmare. Poorly made and the installation is a joke. Each drain piece weighs about 100lbs!! Talk about back problems 👎🏽

User safety during installation is imperative and we would not recommend they are lifted by a single person.
